The Divine Mercy image instituted at Sehion Hills:

28 April 2019

Today as the Catholic Church observes the Feast of Divine Mercy; at Sehion Hills, the Divine Mercy image was solemnly blessed and instituted by Most Rev. Mar Jacob Mannathodath, Bishop of Palakkad Diocese.

The image of Divine Mercy was one of the five elements of the devotion to the Divine Mercy that Jesus revealed through Saint Faustina in the 1930's. In her Diary Saint Faustina wrote the message that Jesus revealed to her regarding this image "I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. I also promise victory over [its] enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death. I Myself will defend it as My own glory (Diary, 47, 48). I am offering people a vessel with which they are to keep coming for graces to the fountain of mercy. That vessel is this image with the signature: Jesus, I trust in You (327). I desire that this image be venerated, first in your chapel, and [then] throughout the world (47)." From today, pilgrims who travel to Sehion Hills can also offer their devotion to the Divine Mercy image and attain the promises that Jesus revealed to St. Faustina.

Sehion Hills is a popular pilgrim center where people travel to from far and wide to participate in the One day Conventions held every Wednesday and Saturday and to offer their prayers and thanksgiving to Jesus. At Sehion Hills, the pilgrims make the Stations of the Cross, pray at the grotto of Mother Mary, images of St. James the Apostle, Blessed Devasahayam Pillai, St. Michael, St. George, Lady of Gaudalupe, Chapel of Mary Undoer of knots, Infant Jesus Chapel, Chapel of the Holy Face of Jesus, Chapel of relics of saints. There are thousands of testimonies of prayers offered at the Holy Cross, for even impossible causes, being answered miraculously. The holy water kept in the stone bowl is also known to have cured many from grave illnesses. There is a lamp kept burning since 2014 for missionaries worldwide and pilgrims stop to offer their prayers for missionaries around the world. With the addition of the Divine Mercy image, now pilgrims can include their devotion to the Divine Mercy also in their pilgrimage.
